NetBird pricing in euros: Team €6, Business €12, and the 100-machine allowance

Short version

What a team of 10 pays

No minimum user count and no required fixed charge, so the formula is rate times headcount and stops there.

UsersTeam (€6)Business (€12)
2€12.00 a month€24.00 a month
5€0 on Free, or €30.00 a month on Team€60.00 a month
10€60.00 a month, €2,160 over three years€120.00 a month, €4,320 over three years
25€150.00 a month€300.00 a month
50€300.00 a month€600.00 a month

Per person it is €6.00 on Team and €12.00 on Business at any size. There is no minimum to push a small team's figure up, so two people pay the same rate as ten. In this site's US-dollar table, NordLayer Lite's five-user minimum turns $8 into $20.00 per person for a team of two; that contrast cannot go in the same table, because the currencies differ.

Machines: the variable that is not a seat

The one thing in NetBird's pricing that moves independently of headcount is the machine count. Team and Business include "100 machines + 10 per user"; every machine past that is €0.50 a month.

For 10 people the allowance is 100 + 10 x 10 = 200 machines. If each person connects a laptop, a phone and a home PC, that is 30. Add 20 servers and it is 50. Nowhere near 200.

The overage starts at machine 201 for a 10-person team. Suppose 10 people and 250 machines: 50 x €0.50 = €25 on top of €60, so €85 a month and €8.50 per person. Unless the use looks like IoT or a lab, with many more machines than people, this line stays at zero.

The page's own calculator shows a 100-user example: "100 Machines (Free) + 1000 Machines (10 per user) = 1100 Machines". The allowance grows with headcount, so larger teams get more room, not less.

Free is 5 users and 100 machines, which is 20 machines per person before the plan runs out.

What "active" means

The calculator on the pricing page says NetBird charges "only for active users and machines that connected or logged in at least once during the billing period". Read plainly: a person or device that is enrolled but never connects in a given month is not on that month's bill.

This site computes on enrolled headcount. The actual invoice may come in lower than the tables here; this site does not print the lower figure.

Why NetBird ranks alone

This site converts no currencies. Euro plans go in euro tables, dollar plans in dollar tables. The euro ZTNA table for 5 to 9 people and the one for 10 to 24 each hold two rows, NetBird Team and NetBird Business, and nothing else.

So "cheapest zero-trust plan in euros" on this site means NetBird Team at €6.00, and it also means a first place with no second. The dollar vendors, Tailscale at $8 or Firezone at $4.16, can be placed next to it on a page but not in a ranking. Tailscale vs NetBird does the side-by-side and still subtracts nothing.

Cloud or self-hosted

The pricing page has a "Cloud" / "Self-Hosted" switch, a link to "Self-hosting NetBird" and a separate Self-Hosted EULA. The figures above are the Cloud figures. Self-hosted pricing is left out of this article because no figure for it could be confirmed in the text read.

As set out in per user, per device, or per server, when a plan has one unit besides people, count your expected total in that unit first. For NetBird that unit is machines.

Who this is not for

If your budget is in dollars and you want NetBird in the same table as the dollar vendors, this site's tables will not do that. If your plan depends on an annual discount, the page does not print one.
