How do Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive and four other well-known CRMs differ, and what does each cost to start?
Summary
Three of these products, Salesforce, HubSpot, and Dynamics 365 Sales, are built to grow from sales into service and marketing on one platform, while Pipedrive, Close, and monday CRM stay focused on a sales team's deals and outreach. Zoho CRM sits on a sales CRM core that connects to the rest of Zoho's apps. The cheapest paid plans range from $14 per seat per month billed annually at Pipedrive to $65 at Dynamics 365 Sales Professional, and HubSpot (two users), Zoho CRM (three users), and Salesforce's Free Suite (two users) can be used free with no end date.
The broad platforms
Salesforce. Starter Suite costs $25 per user per month and can be billed monthly or annually at that price. Every plan above it, starting with Pro Suite at $100, is billed annually only. There is also a $0 Free Suite for two users with no end date, as long as someone logs in at least once every 60 days.
HubSpot. The free CRM covers up to two users, and paid Hubs are added on top of it. Sales Hub Professional carries a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500, and Enterprise $3,500, on top of the seat price.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales. Professional is $65, Enterprise Edition $105, and Premium $150, each per user per month paid yearly. Microsoft Relationship Sales has no listed price and requires a 10-seat minimum.
The sales-focused products
Pipedrive. Organized around a visual deal pipeline. Lite is $14, Growth $39, Premium $59, and Ultimate $79 per seat per month billed annually. There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial, and prices exclude VAT.
Close. Calling, email, SMS, and the pipeline live in one tool. The Solo plan is limited to one user and 10,000 leads, while Essentials and above have unlimited contacts and leads.
monday CRM. Leads, contacts, and deals are managed on configurable boards. Plans start at three users. Basic is $12 per seat per month on a yearly plan and $18 on a monthly one. There is no free plan; the free option is a 14-day trial.
Zoho CRM
Zoho CRM is free for up to three users. Paid prices change with the country and currency you view them in, and the page says local taxes such as VAT or GST are charged on top.
Why the starting prices don't line up
The seat prices above are not measured the same way. Pipedrive's $14 assumes you pay a year up front, Salesforce's $25 does not, and a solo user on monday CRM still pays for three seats. HubSpot's onboarding fee lands entirely in year one. This site's effective per-seat figure, which spreads everything over ten seats and 36 months, exists to put those on a common footing, and the monthly-versus-annual guide lists the gap plan by plan.
