Which benefits does an EOR employee have to get, and which are your call?

Summary

Whatever the country's social security and pension system requires comes with the hire, EOR or not. Private health cover and other extras are optional in many countries, but not all: Remote has to give its core benefits to every employee in France and Brazil. Both are billed on lines of their own, apart from the EOR's fee.

The part the country decides

Singapore shows how fixed this is. Employers pay Central Provident Fund contributions for staff who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents. Under the rates in force from January 1, 2026, for an employee aged 55 or under earning more than S$750 a month, the employer pays 17% of wages and the employee 20%. On a S$6,000 monthly salary that is S$1,020 a month from the employer. First- and second-year permanent residents are on lower, graduated rates, and the requirement is written for citizens and permanent residents, so two people on the same salary can cost you different amounts.

Deel's quotes list these statutory benefits, taxes and fees as "Employer cost," on a separate line from the "Management fee."

The part you choose

How much choice you get depends on the country:

Where it shows up on the bill

Deel sends two invoices. The payroll invoice, in the employee's local currency, carries salaries, contributions and a "Benefits through Deel" line for plan costs. A separate fee invoice carries Deel's charges. Under its newer format the plan cost is deducted from the employee's net pay and your contribution is added back as a benefit, so the two net out inside payroll.

Remote puts benefits on its prefunding invoice at the start of the month, next to salaries, statutory contributions, and approved expenses. Enhanced benefits and other add-on services are billed separately when the cost comes up. Remote says it charges no premium on its plans. Its employment agreements leave benefit details out, because they depend on third-party providers and can change.
