What will Norton VPN cost you after the first-year discount runs out?
Summary
On Norton's U.S. page, the renewal price is $79.99 a year for Standard, $109.99 for Plus and $129.99 for Ultimate. That is two to 2.2 times what each plan costs in its first year ($39.99, $49.99 and $59.99). All three renew automatically unless you cancel, and a renewal charge can still be refunded in full within 60 days.
First year vs every year after
All three plans are sold as annual subscriptions.
- Standard, 5 devices: $39.99 for the first year, then $79.99 a year
- Plus, 5 devices: $49.99, then $109.99
- Ultimate, 10 devices: $59.99, then $129.99
The "50% OFF," "54% OFF" and "53% OFF" labels are measured against those renewal prices. The per-month figures under each plan ($3.33, $4.17, $5.00) are the first-year price divided by 12. None of the plans shows a monthly billing price.
Norton also publishes a renewal price list, effective March 2026. It covers Norton VPN Standard only, and its five-device annual price, $79.99, matches the product page. Plus and Ultimate don't appear on it.
How the renewal is billed
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before billing. Annual renewals are charged up to 35 days before the renewal date, and annual subscribers get an email with the renewal price ahead of time. The footnote adds that renewal prices "may be higher than the initial price and are subject to change."
What the extra money buys
The VPN is the same on every tier. Standard, Plus and Ultimate all list the no-log policy, Kill Switch, IP Rotation, Double VPN, the ad blocker (desktop Chrome, Edge for Windows and Firefox only) and apps for Google TV, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV.
Plus adds AI-powered scam detection with real-time malware and ransomware protection, a password manager, dark web monitoring and 10 GB of cloud backup. Ultimate raises the backup to 50 GB, doubles the device count to 10, and adds parental controls and location tracking for kids' Android and iOS devices. Cloud backup runs on Windows only.
One thing on the page doesn't add up. The FAQ says "Norton VPN standalone plans do not include antivirus" and points to Norton 360 bundles for that, while the Plus and Ultimate panels list malware and ransomware protection.
Refunds: 60 days or 14
Norton's refund policy gives annual subscriptions a full refund if you ask within 60 days of purchase, and the same 60-day window applies to each later annual charge. A monthly subscription can be refunded within 14 days of the first purchase, but later monthly charges can't. Purchases billed through a third party such as an app store may fall under different terms.
