Can your CRM handle the delivery work after a deal closes?

Summary

Not on its own, but the larger vendors now sell a way to turn a won deal into project work. Pipedrive has a paid Projects add-on that builds the project from the closed deal. Zoho CRM connects to Zoho Projects, which needs its own active account and plan. Salesforce customers can have won opportunities create tasks in Asana, but only on Asana's Advanced tier or higher.

Where a CRM stops

A deal in a CRM ends when it is won or lost. The work that comes after, with owners, due dates, and dependencies, is what project management tools are built to track. Pipedrive and Zoho both describe the hand-off in those terms. Pipedrive says that once a deal closes you can generate an AI-assisted project brief from the deal's emails, notes, and files. Zoho says its Projects integration exists to make it easier to create and assign projects after a deal is won.

Pipedrive: an add-on inside the CRM

Projects is an add-on you can attach to any Pipedrive plan. A project carries tasks, timelines, dependencies, and milestones, all tied to the original deal, and the Gantt view is still labeled beta. The pricing page says "Starting from $16" and nothing more. It doesn't say whether that figure is per seat or which billing cycle it assumes.

Zoho: two products, one screen

Once the integration is on, you can create projects from Accounts, Contacts, and Deals in Zoho CRM, and projects added on either side show up on the other. A few conditions apply:

Zoho Projects has its own free plan for up to five users.

Salesforce and Asana: tasks, not projects

Asana's Salesforce integration is available on the Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+ tiers. It creates or updates Asana tasks when something happens in Salesforce, and Asana's own example is an opportunity being closed or won. The older Asana app on the Salesforce AppExchange has been deprecated and is no longer supported.
