Global payroll pricing per employee: $29 at Deel, Remote and Papaya Global, against $499 to $699 for an employer of record, at 5 and 10 employees
Last updated: 2026-10-03
Short version
- Global payroll, the product for countries where you already own a legal entity, is $29 per employee per month at Remote (confirmed 2026-10-03), "from $29" at Papaya Global (a starting price behind a quote), and $29 at Deel, where the figure comes from the Pay / US tab as read on 2026-09-27 and was not visible on the pricing page on 2026-10-03.
- None of the three charges a base fee. Ten employees cost $290, twenty-five $725, with "from" attached to Papaya's figures.
- An employer of record, for countries where you have no entity, is from $499 at Papaya, $599 at Deel and Justworks, and $699 at Remote: $4,990 to $6,990 for ten people.
- Rippling publishes a price for neither product.

With the figures identical, what separates the rows is how firm each one is. Remote's $29 is printed as "Global Payroll $29/employee/month," and the same page says "No platform, onboarding, or setup fees." Papaya's $29 is "starting from," and every card on its page ends in a "Get a Quote" button. The page describes Payroll Plus as fully managed payroll with in-country experts in 160+ countries, but does not say which countries or headcounts the $29 holds for.
Read Deel's $29 as conditional
On 2026-09-27 this site read "US Payroll $29 per employee per month (self-service)" and Global Payroll $29 on the Pay / US tab of Deel's pricing page. On 2026-10-03 the same page showed Contractor Management $49, Contractor of Record $325, PEO $125 and EOR $599, but neither $29 figure was visible. Whether the price was withdrawn or the tab layout changed cannot be told from the reading. The article keeps the $29 as a 2026-09-27 figure and marks it in the table. Anyone planning on Deel's number should check that $29 is on the page before signing.
What the $29 leaves out
- The entity itself. Global payroll assumes your company already exists in that country. Incorporation, local accounting and tax advice, and annual filings never appear on a payroll pricing page. Article-14 draws that line.
- Statutory employer costs. Social insurance and similar employer contributions are not in the $29, nor in the $599 or $699 EOR fee; salary and contributions sit on top, as article-14 treats them.
- The country's own filing rules. Reporting deadlines and contribution math for the UK, Canada, India, the UAE and New Zealand are set out in article-30.
The same headcount through an employer of record
| Vendor | EOR per employee per month | 5 | 10 | Read |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Papaya Global | From $499 | From $2,495 | From $4,990 | 2026-10-03 |
| Deel | $599 | $2,995 | $5,990 | 2026-10-03 |
| Justworks | $599 | $2,995 | $5,990 | 2026-09-06 (page not re-readable) |
| Remote | $699 | $3,495 | $6,990 | 2026-10-03 |
At ten employees the gap between $290 of global payroll and the EOR fee is $5,700 a month at Deel and $6,700 at Remote, or $68,400 and $80,400 a year. That gap is the most that owning an entity could save, and the entity's running costs come out of it. The headcount at which an entity starts paying for itself is worked out, country by country, in the Employer of Record section. Deel's EOR is "month-to-month, no long-term commitment"; Remote's page says 90+ countries and Papaya's 180+, though country counts do not change the price table. The calculator's EOR view gives the monthly EOR total for your own headcount.
Rippling: a quote for both
Rippling's pricing page says only "Tell us what services you need, and we'll send you a custom quote," with no figure for global payroll or EOR. The "starts at $8" price it published until 2026-09-06 was withdrawn. With nothing to put in the table, a Rippling quote has to be read against the two tables above.
Who this is not for
This is a table of published prices, not a judgment on who runs payroll well in which country. The three $29 figures do not necessarily buy the same work: this site's dataset records tax filing as included for Deel's Global Payroll and leaves the Remote and Papaya rows at "not stated." The scope is published USD prices; Deel's $29 is the 2026-09-27 reading and Justworks' EOR is from 2026-09-06. We have not used any of these services.
