What does Skuad's $199 EOR include, and what does the volume discount do to it?

Summary

Summary

$199 is a starting price, and the page adds "volume discounts available." That caveat points down, not up: the fee falls with headcount, which means a company hiring one person never reaches it. On the contractor side there are two products: contractor management (CMS) at $19, and an agent of record at $99, where Skuad becomes the contracting party and carries the misclassification risk. Among EORs under $200, only Skuad and Horizons ($199) publish an agent- or contractor-of-record price, and Skuad's is half. Deposit, employing entity, billing currency and exit notice are not on the page.

Among the three at $199

RemoFirst, Skuad and Horizons share the $199 row in this site's table. RemoFirst's figure varies by country, Horizons' is a list price, Skuad's falls with headcount. One moves up, one stays, one moves down.

The size of Skuad's discount is not on the page, neither the headcount it starts at nor the percentage. One person is $199; ten people are something under it, by an unstated amount.

Two tiers for contractors

ProductPriceWhat it does
Contractor Management System (CMS)$19 per contractor per monthContracts, payments, paperwork
Agent of Record (AOR)$99 per contractor per monthSkuad contracts with the person and carries the classification risk

$19 sits in the cheapest band of the fourteen, level with Native Teams' Contractor Pay (RemoFirst's free tier aside). The $99 AOR is under a third of the $325 Deel and Remote charge for contractor of record, and well under Multiplier's $400; it matches Native Teams' $99.

For a company that starts people as contractors and converts them to employees later, these two tiers matter before the $199 does.

The year

Fees without a discount: $2,388. A $90,000 hire in the United States comes to $99,315 with $6,927 of statutory cost; a $30,000 hire to $34,725, with the fee at 8.0% of pay. Ten hires start at $23,880 in fees and fall by whatever the discount is.

What is not on the page

RemoFirst, at the same $199, says "no fees, no minimums, partners" in its own words. Skuad says little beyond the numbers. Cheap and brief are different things, and the brief part gets filled by the quote.

For the quote

  1. Is it $199 in my country
  2. From what headcount does the discount start, and by how much
  3. Deposit: whether, how much, when refunded
  4. Which company signs the employment contract in my country
  5. Notice and fees on exit
