What a business VPN costs per user, at your team size

Type the number of people who need access. The list re-ranks itself, because minimum user counts and fixed charges decide small teams and barely touch large ones.

It runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. Tick Watch on the vendors you are deciding between and save the scenario; next time you open this page, what changed for them since you saved is listed at the top.

19 published plans a 10-user team could buy, ordered by effective cost per user. Minimum user counts and required fixed charges are included; optional add-ons and taxes are not. Data as of 2026-09-07; checked 2026-09-07.

effective / user = (per-user price × max(team size, minimum users) + required fixed charge) / team size

Why the ranking moves so much

Two things move it. A minimum user count makes a plan expensive per person for a small team, and stops mattering once you are past it. A fixed monthly charge does the same thing more sharply, because it does not shrink at all. Set the number to two and then to fifty and watch the order change.

A third thing moves the published figure itself: the billing term. Where a vendor prints both, the annual rate is the one used here, and paying by the month runs 18% to 29% higher.

Take this with you

Cite this tool: VPN Pricing, “Business VPN cost per user calculator”, https://seatbill.com/vpn-pricing/tool, data as of 2026-09-07, checked 2026-09-07.

Take the data: tool-data.csv (every published figure behind this table, one row per plan, with the source URL and check date) or data.json. Both are CC BY 4.0 — attribute to VPN Pricing (https://seatbill.com/vpn-pricing).

What changed here

50 entries are recorded, for Cloudflare One, ExpressVPN for Teams, Firezone, NordLayer, OpenVPN CloudConnexa, Perimeter81, Proton VPN Business, Surfshark Business, Tailscale, Twingate, UTunnel VPN and VyprVPN Business, the latest on 2026-10-02. Each one keeps the old value, the new value and the reason. The change log lists every entry by month, and the RSS feed carries them as they are recorded.

Saving it for next time

Save this scenario in this browser keeps the team size, currency, type and the vendors you ticked in this browser's own storage, with the date. Nothing goes to us. When you come back, the top of this page lists every change this site recorded for those vendors after that date, with the old value, the new one and whether it was the vendor changing its page or us correcting a figure. Mark as seen moves the date forward; Forget it clears the lot.

If you know when your current contract renews, put the date in and Reminder 30 days before renewal gives you a calendar file (.ics) for that day, holding the link to this scenario and nothing else. Most renewals need notice, so that is the last comfortable day to re-check the table.

Who this is not for

If you are choosing based on security architecture, device support or throughput, this tool has nothing to say. It compares published prices and does not know whether any of these products is any good.
